Hargreaves has again been successful in award of critical replacement works within CLP, that of extracting and reinstalling condenser tubes within the condensers at Castle Peak Power Station. The large water box cover must first be hoisted out of the way to enable the extraction and then the replacement of 5240 copper tubes per pass. All of which takes place in a high noise environment surrounded by other condensers running at full capacity.
HIS has brought consistent successive innovation to this process, bringing specialist equipment and technicians on site to extract, cut and flatten the tubes simultaneously, massively reducing the time it takes to complete the works.
Whilst we continue to win the same projects across a range of equipment year on year, HIS continues to look for new and innovative ways to undertake the works further.
